Ultrasonic testing employs high energy sound waves acting much like sonar
to examine materials or components for flaws.
- EDDY CURRENT (ET)
Eddy Current testing uses electrically induced eddy currents to detect
flaws and identify material compositions.
- LIQUID PENETRANT (PT)
Liquid penetrant testing employs a dye to detect surface flaws in
components.
- MAGNETIC PARTICLE (MT)
Magnetic particle testing employs an electrically induced magnetic field
in ferromagnetic components to locate flaws.
- VISUAL (VT)
Visual testing is used to detect surface flaws in components.
- LEAK TESTING (LT)
Mass spectrometer leak detection uses a mass spectrometer to detect a
tracer gas (helium) to locate leaks in components.
- VIDEO BOROSCOPE
Video boroscope employs a flexible fiber optics cable with high intensity
lighting and tape backup to examine areas that may be inaccessible by other
visual testing method in components.
